You will also have a series of personal interviews with the director, devoted primarily to academic matters.<\/p>\n<h4>Permit of Stay (Permesso Di Soggiorno): Non-EU Citizens<\/h4>\n<p>You will begin the process for requesting a <em>permesso di soggiorno<\/em> upon your arrival in Italy.\u00a0 More information will be provided at the on-site orientation. During the first week of the program, the School in Italy staff will help the students through the process of obtaining the <em>permesso<\/em><em>.<\/em>\u00a0 In the <a href=\"http:\/\/schoolsabroadhandbooks.middcreate.net\/italy\/pre-departure-information\/student-visas-university-registration\/\">Student Visas<\/a> section of this handbook, you will find additional information and the list of documents required to complete the application.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Registration at the Municipality (Iscrizione all&#8217;Anagrafe): EU Citizens <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Only<\/span><br \/><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>You will begin the process for requesting a <em>r<\/em><em>esidenza <\/em>90 days after your arrival in Italy. Since the procedure is different for each municipality, the School in Italy staff will help you through the bureaucratic process of obtaining the <em>r<\/em><em>esidenza. <\/em>In the <a href=\"http:\/\/schoolsabroadhandbooks.middcreate.net\/grad-italy\/pre-departure\/student-visauniversity-registration\/\">Student Visas<\/a> section of this handbook, you will find the list of documents required to complete the application.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h4 class=\"entry clearfix\"><strong>Codice Fiscale<\/strong><strong> (Fiscal\/Tax Code)<br \/><\/strong><\/h4>\n<div class=\"entry clearfix\">\n<p>You are required to have a <em>codice fiscale<\/em>. During the first week the School in Italy will inform students regarding how to obtain the <em>codice fiscale<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Students may choose to obtain the document on their own once they have arrived in Italy at the <em>Ufficio locale<\/em> <em>dell\u2019Agenzia delle Entrate<\/em> (Via Santa Caterina d\u2019Alessandria, 23).\u00a0 <strong>A passport is required to apply for the <em>codice fiscale<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>[VERY IMPORTANT] <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Students who remain in Italy without a Permit of Stay or a Registration at the Municipality are in violation of Italian law.
