Before Leaving Italy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Make a bucket list of things to do before leaving<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Cancel your phone plan, close your Italian bank account, and cancel any other accounts or memberships at least a week prior to departure<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Return any borrowed items or books<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Donate any unwanted items or clothes to charitable associations<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Ship any extra books or items you would like to take back with you<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Go back to all your favorite spots one last time<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. Before turning over your keys, review the condition of your room with your host family or roommates<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  8. Don\u2019t forget to thank everyone who contributed to your study abroad experience (host family, roommates, language partner, etc.)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Upon Your Return<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Attend returnee events organized on campus, regionally, or even nationally, such as the Global Student Leadership Summit<\/a> hosted by Diversity Abroad<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Join an Italian club or other clubs related to language and culture<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Take a course in Italian Studies or a related subject matter<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Get involved with the International Center on campus by helping with study abroad events, welcoming international students to campus, and\/or participating in language exchange or buddy programs with international students<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    5. Look for ways to connect with the Italian-speaking community in your area<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    6. Update your resume with your international experience and your linguistic skills <\/li>\n\n\n\n
    7. Think about your next international or intercultural experience! Contact your International Center, Career Center, and\/or Italian Department about other opportunities to consider<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
