Medical/Accident Insurance
As part of your program fee, you will be provided with insurance coverage for the duration of your participation in the program. Students studying on the Middlebury Schools Abroad are automatically enrolled in a study abroad health insurance plan for the duration of the program through GeoBlue International Health Insurance. You will have an insurance card and proof of insurance letter emailed to you from GeoBlue. This coverage is mandatory and cannot be waived. Students who are required to enroll in insurance through their home institution will not be eligible for a refund or other recompense for the cost of coverage through the Middlebury Schools Abroad.
Please check the coverage provided through this policy carefully. If you judge it to be insufficient you may wish to purchase supplementary insurance independently.
For either 高雄長庚紀念醫院 (Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital) or 高雄醫學大學附設中和紀念醫院 (Kaohsiung Medical U. Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital), you are set up for direct payment from GeoBlue. If you contact GeoBlue before going to the hospital, they will arrange payment directly to the hospital, and you will not have to pay anything out of pocket.
If you go to the hospital without contacting GeoBlue first, or if you go to a different hospital or clinic, please keep your receipts. You can submit them to GeoBlue for reimbursement.
If you intend to remain in Taiwan after the program ends, you will be able to extend your GeoBlue insurance coverage. Please see the Health Insurance page of the Schools Abroad website for detailed instructions.
