Medical Insurance

Students studying at the Middlebury Schools in Argentina and Uruguay are automatically enrolled in an international health insurance plan for the duration of the program through BlueCross BlueShield Global Solutions (formerly GeoBlue International Health Insurance).  You will receive an insurance card and proof of insurance letter from BCBS Global Solutions.  This coverage is mandatory and cannot be waived. Students who are required to enroll in insurance through their home institution will not be eligible for a refund or other recompense for the cost of coverage through the Middlebury Schools Abroad.

The BCBS Global Solutions insurance plan provides up to $250,000 of medical coverage (accident/sickness) with zero deductible.  There is also medical evacuation and repatriation coverage.  Coverage begins on the first day of your program abroad and ends on the last, with the option to purchase an additional 30 days of coverage by contacting the insurance provider directly.

While BCBS Global Solutions covers many things, routine preventative visits and certain types of specialist visits and procedures are not covered.  Please refer to the BCBS Global Solutions student guide for more information.
