Health Insurance

Students studying at the Middlebury School in Spain are automatically enrolled in a study abroad health insurance plan for the duration of the program through Blue Cross Blue Shield Global Solutions  (BCBS), formerly known as GeoBlue. You will receive an insurance card and proof of insurance letter. This coverage is mandatory and cannot be waived. Students who are required to enroll in insurance through their home institution will not be eligible for a refund or other recompense for the cost of coverage through the Middlebury Schools Abroad.

The insurance plan provides up to $500,000 of medical coverage (accident/sickness) with zero deductible. There is also medical evacuation and repatriation coverage. Coverage begins on the first day of your program abroad and ends on the last, with the option to purchase additional months of coverage by contacting the insurance provider directly. Please note that while this insurance covers you abroad, it does not cover you in the U.S.

Please log on to the BCBS website to print your insurance card and take it to Spain.
