Networking Abroad
Students often ask us how to get an internship before or after their study abroad experience, or how to get back to their host country after graduation. The answer? Networking. While it’s true that it is difficult to network to find something before your program abroad, even in places where the visa process would allow it, networking during your time abroad to make contacts for later use is an excellent use of your time.
Middlebury’s Center for Careers and Internships has an entire section of their web site dedicated to networking. There are also valuable web-based tools you can access. If you are not a Middlebury undergraduate student, check with a parallel office on your home campus to see what alumni networks might be available to you.
